The Atlanta BookArts Collective (ABC) provides opportunities, through programs, workshops, and sharing, to learn more about both paper and book arts. . . We all love books. . . . We explore everything from artists’ books to fine bindings, from repairs to type setting. . . . Our members are bookbinders, conservators, calligraphers, printers, and paper makers.
The group is open to artists, teachers, students, librarians, printmakers, photographers, papermakers, conservators, calligraphers, and anyone who is enthusiastic about traditional bookbinding and/or contemporary and experimental book arts.
At monthly meetings, ABC offers demonstrations/workshops where you can learn how to create hand-made books and to talk to like-minded individuals who want to share resources, inspiration, and information about artist books. All levels, from beginner to professional, are welcome. You can join the group at any time.
Our goal is to build a supportive community of book artists. As we become established, we plan to present occasional workshops with professional book artists and also organize regular exhibitions of the book arts in Atlanta.
